The Wild and Bush Rose Promenade

One of the most beautiful promenades on the island draws visitors with its beguiling perfume and resplendent historic roses. The rose collection, rightly extolled by experts, consists of more than 400 varieties.

The old roses are very precious. Many of them are wild roses which adorned the gardens of the Orient 3,000 years ago. The first ocean of rose blossoms appears at the beginning of May on the wild roses, some of which are very rare. Besides wild roses, there are also some new varieties of repeat-flowering and non-stop flowering hybrid roses planted along the promenade.

The peak flowering time in June is an unforgettable, sensual experience for Mainau guests.
