Take a stroll in the quitely parkways and spot the ravishing beauty of brumal nature: textured bark, vibrant colors, birds seeking seeds. After your walk in the wild, warm up in our Schlosscafé and enjoy the selection of freshly baked cakes.

The peeling bark of Acer griseum is truly an eye-candy. You find that deciduous tree at Mainau Arboretum.

You’ll find several patches of beautiful white snowdrops (Galanthus) in our Herbaceous Garden and Lakeside Garden

Miscanthus sinensis is known as Maiden Grass or Chinese fairy grass. The tall perennial grass is originally from Asia.

Viburnum x bodnantense ‘Dawn’ is a leafless shrub covered in flowers. Take a closer look and you will smell a sweet and delicious scent.

The radiant shining branches of White Willow (Salix alba 'Vitellina') can be admired in the perennial garden. It is particularly very decorative in wintertimes.

The flowers of the attractive Witch Hazel (Hamamelis x intermedia) has a subtle, but spicy scent.  You’ll find some species of that winterbloomer at the Lakeside Garden.

The first crocuses appear, they will form beautiful flower carpets in the coming weeks

Discover the white flowers of the Powderpuff (Calliandra haematocephala) can be discovered in the butterfly house. is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to Borneo.

South African Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia reginae) flowers at Mainau Palm House

Especially during that time of the year the Chinese red birch (Betula albosinensis) stands out with its peeling creamy colored bark

At the Mediterranean terraces Narcissus Tazetta or Joss Flower are blooming
