Discover Mainau Island

Dear visitors,

spring is finally on its way and its first signs can‘t be overlooked on Mainau Island. We are happy about the comeback of crocuses, daffodils, anemones and cornelian cherries - also the first bees and bumblebees are already buzzing around.

From 3 March, the exhibition rooms at Mainau Palace will be adorned with fresh and springlike decoration ideas in our exhibition "Spring Dreams". Discover a wide range of creative color worlds so that spring can move into your home as well. The upcycling project 'CreAktiv' of Caritas presents exciting products like insect hotels, furniture and cuddly toys.

Did you know that explorers of the 18th and 19th centuries first brought exotic orchids to Europe by sea? This year's orchid show, which will be on display at the Palm House from 17 March, will focus on this era of adventurers and plant hunters. We can already reveal this: It will be a nautical-botanical adventure with about 3,000 orchid plants :-)
The orchid show signals the start into our traditional Flower Year. Look forward to diving into fascinating worlds and to discovering some innovations in the park.
