Insel Mainau / Marketing
The Lakeside Garden is located on the south-eastern tip of Mainau Island. Tall beeches, lime trees and other trees characterise this park area, through which long ribbons of flowers meander. The Lakeside Garden is also home to numerous rhododendron bushes and their companions as well as real camellias, which feel very much at home here. The Lakeside Garden is also home to Mainau's first primeval sequoia, which was brought to the island from Kew Gardens in London in 1952 and planted here. A few years ago, the Mainau gardeners created a flower bed in the shape of Lake Constance on the slope along the shore garden, which illustrates the geography of the "Swabian Sea".
