When roses make history, Mainau Island becomes the stage: During the Rose Weeks, the queen of flowers takes center stage, just as the park’s founder, Grand Duke Frederick I, intended when he shaped the Italian Rose Garden in the 19th century and referred to Mainau even then as his personal paradise.
Amid fragrant blossoms, Mediterranean flair, and historic garden art, you’ll experience two weeks full of enjoyment, inspiration, and joie de vivre, along with a varied program:
A stylish rose-themed dinner delights the palate, the plant market invites you to discover and take home selected rose treasures, the Italian Evening in the Palm House brings together culinary delights and a southern lifestyle—and on the castle lawn, a game of croquet offers a leisurely summer treat.
