Red, gold, copper and bronze - these are just a few shades of the beautiful fall colors that can now be experienced on Mainau Island in autumn.
Let yourself be carried away into the golden-yellow and copper-red color worlds of the ginkgo and amber tree and enjoy the perennial garden in its autumnal elegance. The autumnal color palette is complemented by the colorful blossoms of over 11,000 dahlias in the dahlia garden! Fill up on color is the motto.

The blue panicles of the sack flower(Ceanothus x delilianus 'Gloire de Versailles') are very similar to lilacs. On our roof garden, the shrub enjoys its sunny location and continues to bloom until late fall.
The autumn monkshood(Aconitum carmichaelii 'Arendsii') is an attractive perennial with its blue, helmet-shaped flowers. Growing to a height of 120 centimetres, this buttercup is a real eye-catcher in any flower bed.
The so-called magnificent autumn crocus(Crocus speciosus) has its main flowering period now in October, which even lasts into November depending on the weather. Wild bees and bumblebees also benefit from its late flowering period.
The slender inflorescences of candle knotweed(Bistorta amplexicaulis) make an elegant addition to the autumn perennial garden. Candle knotweed is fairly easy to care for and robust. They flower until late in the fall.
The autumn sun makes the grasses and autumn anemones glow against the light.
At the Italian Flower Water Staircase, the American amber tree(Liquidambar styraciflua) displays its red-colored foliage.
The autumn daisy(Leucanthemella serotina 'Herbststern') is a late bloomer that pleases the eye with its pure white flowers.
The vinegar tree(Rhus typhina) presents its most beautiful side in October with its intense autumn colors.
The toad lilies(Tricyrtis) embellish the autumnal variety of flowers in our park with their striking, dotted blossoms. The lily plant is native to Japan.
