The creation of photo and film material on Mainau Island is possible under certain conditions.
I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
- Interviews with members of the Bernadotte family as well as employees of Mainau GmbH and employees of organizations associated with Mainau GmbH are only possible with the written consent of the Press Office/Mainau GmbH Marketing Department. Photographic and film material created during such an interview may only be used for the editorial contribution agreed in advance with the Press Office/Mainau GmbH Marketing Department or for editorial purposes as part of the film production agreed in advance with the Press Office/Mainau GmbH Marketing Department.
- The respective photographer or producer is responsible for the protection of all rights, including those of third parties (e.g. copyright and personal rights).
- The photographer or the producer is not permitted to make any changes to local conditions. This does not apply to small, easily transportable objects (e.g. mobile signs, small flower pots). These must be returned to their original condition at the end of the activity.
- Photographs/films may only be taken in areas accessible to visitors. Photography/filming of and in depots and other areas that are not open to visitors is not permitted.
- Emergencies: In an emergency, please call the mainau internal emergency number +49 (0) 7531 303 200.
- Behavior on the island: Driving onto the island is only possible with the permission of Mainau GmbH's Press Office/Marketing Department. The road traffic regulations apply throughout the island with a maximum speed limit of 30 km/h. Driving in the park and garden areas is generally not permitted. Parking is only permitted in designated areas. The paths on the island may not be left and flower beds may not be entered. Unsafe behavior (e.g. climbing on walls etc.) is not permitted. Blocking off areas is generally not permitted and can only be done in exceptional cases and only in consultation with the press department/marketing department of Mainau GmbH.
- The use of drones and other aircraft as well as photography/filming with such devices is generally prohibited on Mainau Island.

II. CREATION OF PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL
In addition to the conditions mentioned in point I, the following applies:
- If the images are used for private purposes, photography is permitted.
- If the images are published in connection with an editorial article about Mainau Island, photography is permitted. Please contact the press department and send us a specimen copy.
- The use of the images for commercial purposes (calendars, postcards, catalogs, book projects, etc.) and the photography of models and products brought along (e.g. for product tests, product presentations) are prohibited.
III. CREATION OF FILM MATERIAL
Filming on Mainau Island, including the creation of music videos, for non-private purposes is only possible with a filming permit issued to the producer in writing in advance by the Press Office/Marketing Department of Mainau GmbH. In addition to the conditions stated in point I, the following applies:
- The footage produced may only be used for editorial purposes in connection with an editorial article on Mainau Island. The use of the film material for commercial purposes (advertising, sales products, etc.) is excluded. The filming of actions with actors, models etc. and the filming of products brought along (e.g. for product tests, product presentations) are not permitted.
- The producer may capture opinions from visitors about their stay on the island with their consent. However, it is prohibited to ask visitors about other topics such as religion, politics or similar.
